Day 1!

Well, I finally did it!  I started a blog.  As usual, I am embarking on this long after most people I know, but better late than never, right??

Today is one of those rare days in Dallas/Fort Worth - an ice day.  The kids went to school, but their field trips were cancelled and we are waiting to see if they will be going to school tomorrow.  I am crossing my fingers that they do NOT cancel school, because (1) the kids will be stir crazy and (2) Layne has his Zone Cross Country meet tomorrow.  He has really found his niche with running.  At his last meet, he placed 4th in the A team competition (out of 49 runners) and 4th overall (over 150 runners).  He is really excited about the Zone meet.  The top 10 runners move on to the Meet of Champions.  So, crossing my fingers for good weather tomorrow!
